Princesses Don’t Cry, They Scheme: Chapter One

CHAPTER ONE: THE FIRST CONTINENT-WIDE PRINCESS GATHERING – PART I

When Jyzelle was five years old, she was invited into the continent-wide Rosa die Leume which translated as Roses Gathering.

For many generations, Rosa die Leume was the gathering of princesses who were around the same age and to hold this gathering, a minimum approval of one empire and three kingdoms were needed. For every princess, they were obligated to attend this gathering for a minimum of once a lifetime.

As there were many talented princesses in this generations, the empires and kingdoms agreed to hold Rosa die Leume for five to ten years old princesses. In this gathering, Jyzelle was the youngest.

After getting used to the bizarre royal life in this world, Jyzelle very much hoped that this gathering would be a nice and calming one. She was curious about the lives of other princesses and this gathering may provide her the information she wanted.

Aside from her, her twin younger sisters, Alis and Losta, the fourth and fifth princess of Histel Empire would be coming too.

Unlike the typical royal families, Histel Empire’s empyrean royal family only focused on the strength of the bloodline and the capabilities a member of the royal family had.

If one had weak bloodline or none at all, he or she would be given chance until their coming of age to display their talent. If not, exile would await them.

Histel royal family only acknowledge wisdom and strength.

As such, Jyzelle had a few siblings that she could not call brother or sister because they either had no bloodline or that they did not display any talent.

With parents that had lived for a few hundred years, it was inevitable that by blood, Jyzelle had a lot of siblings. But it was not that much either since royal families were known for their difficulty in having children, especially children who possessed bloodline.

As to date, the Histel royal family had five princesses and eight princes – officially. The real count was ten princesses and thirteen princes.

Jyzelle, officially the third princess or eight princess off the records, was the only known Great Princess.

The title of Great Princess could only be given when a princess had given great merit to the empire or kingdom, or the princess was born with strong bloodline.

Jyzelle’s case was the former.

In the five years she lived in this world, she realized that this world kept many secrets.

What exactly was the use of the royal and imperial families across the world? Why was it forbidden to change the names of territories? Why did ordinary people had to worship the members of corresponding royal or imperial families members to be able to get power? Why was alchemy very important? Why was the Histhello imperial family educated her and trained her as if she was about to go to a war? Why was there no war for the past thousands of years?

Questions kept on pouring the more Jyzelle learned about this world, but no one seemed to be willing to talk about those questions.

“Your highness!” Alis, her younger sister, fourth princess and also the princess who had superiority-inferiority complex, bowed to her.

“What is it?” Jyzelle asked with a tired tone. This girl was probably going to show off something she prepared for a long time again.

“Your highness, I just learned recently how to make embroidery!” Alis showed the handkerchief she embroidered to Jyzelle.

“And?” Jyzelle was starting to get irritated with this little brat.

Alis prepared for about ten months to show off her embroidery to Jyzelle and claimed it was ‘just learned recently’.

Jyzelle really wanted to publish a Chicken Soup book to brainwash this brat to be a better person.

Losta and Alis may be twins, but Alis was far superior than Losta and she reminded Losta everyday about it, not that Losta minded. Losta was just too busy flirting with boys even though she was just a very little kid.

Many times, Jyzelle wondered what was wrong with this world every single time she met these two mentally unhealthy kids.

It was at this time Losta ran in the hall and saw the two of them. Her eyes landed on the rose embroidered handkerchief and her eyes lit up.

“Thanks! I’ll take that!” Losta stole the handkerchief roughly and ran away, probably to present it to another male she fancied.

“That girl,” Jyzelle grumbled. “If you put the pictures of the guys she fancied, it can already compete with the dictionary.”

This pair of twins were just five months younger than her!
