The oldest cousin-in-law glanced at this tender and beautiful fourth sister deeply. Before she said anything, Jiang Yue at the side glared at Jiang Ningbao as if he was seeing his sworn enemy and spoke with ridicule.

“Isn’t it because of fourth sister that grandmother fainted?”

Jiang Ningbao’s face revealed astonishment and a wronged expression, “Second male cousin, what do you mean?”

“Enough. Second brother, shut up. This matter has nothing to do with fourth sister.” Her oldest male cousin Jiang Zhuo coldly glared at this idiotic second brother. Although they were angry at fourth sister, they knew the real reason why.

Jiang Yue glared at Jiang Ningbao and shut his mouth.

The concubine-born children did not say anything.

Jiang Mingyao kept her silence.

At this moment, Old Madam Jiang’s trusted servant, Hong Xing, came out of the room. When she saw Jiang Ningbao who stood at the main hall, her eyes flashed and she conveyed Old Madam Jiang’s words to let them leave.

When the crowd left, Golden Longevity Hall regained its silence.

Jiang Ningbao went back to her courtyard and sighed. Changning Count fainting suddenly, Madam Zhang still in Clear Water Temple to cleanse the ominous energy, her grandmother resting, her brother should return. Perhaps, he was already on his way back now.

She hoped that her older brother could come back safely.

“Lady, are you alright?” Chun Le brewed tea for her lady and asked with worry.

“I’m fine. I just miss big brother.” Jiang Ningbao shook her head and drank her tea. She stood up in the west chamber where she brewed medicinal wine for Ganyuan Emperor.

Yesterday night, the duke secretly sent Xie Qi to deliver Ganyuan Emperor’s diagnosis to her hand and gave her a bunch of herbs.

Jiang Ningbao thought of the shocking written comments on the diagnosis and could not help but take in a cold breath. Ganyuan Emperor’s desire to live was so strong that Jiang Ningbao was shocked.

From the diagnosis, Ganyuan Emperor’s sick state was more serious than what she expected. Once he was not careful, he could die at any time. No wonder the officials would secretly take a stance and no one wanted to gain merits from the emperor. As long as they gambled right, they would soar drastically.

“The women in the harem are really scary.”

Jiang Ningbao muttered as she brewed medicinal wine with much familiarity. When the previous empress was pregnant, though she had guarded herself, she still fell and Ganyuam Emperor walked to and fro by death’s door.

Coincidentally, she could use the few jugs of medicinal wine she stored in the wine room. She still lacked the last warm body-preserving medicinal wine which Jiang Ningbao was brewing at the moment.

Completing today’s task, Jiang Ningbao sent someone to send the medicinal wine for the Ganyuan Emperor to Duke Ding in Duke Ding Residence.

At night, the weather changed and a big rain came.

Duke Ding Xie Heng personally visited and Changning Count Residence made a stir.

Old Madam Jiang who was resting quietly silently sighed. Good thing there was the fourth girl.

As long as the fourth girl leaned on the count residence, those rumors amounted to nothing.

The only thing that made the old madam’s heart go cold was the oldest girl who married into marquis residence used her pregnancy as an excuse and only sent a servant girl to placate her.

Jiang Ningbao looked at the tall figure standing under the eaves of the veranda. In front of the servants, she happily welcomed him and hugged his arm as she asked with a smile.

“Sir duke, why do you come at this time?”

Duke Ding Xie Heng looked at the bright smile on the little lady’s face and his eyes softened. He spoke concisely, “Let us speak after entering the room.”

Jiang Ningbao immediately brought him to the hall. Chun Xi and Chun Le tactfully retreated and only Jiang Ningbao and Duke Ding Xie Heng remained in the hall.

“Sir duke, no one is around.” Jiang Ningbao poured Duke Ding a cup of fragrant tea. Her eyes looked at Duke Ding’s handsome face and a trace of curiosity appeared on her tender face.

“The emperor drank your wine and vomited a few mouthfuls of black blood. The imperial doctor said that the emperor’s body turned better and this is kept a secret. It won’t be publicized. Your reward will be delayed later.” Duke Ding’s voice was low and his tone carried a trace of apology.

Jiang Ningbao’s eyes lit up and she waved her hand.

“Delayed is delayed. Actually, it’s alright even if there’s no reward, so does the duke specially come to tell me this?”

Duke Ding halted, “Another thing.”

“What is it?”

“Eat dinner together.” Duke Ding Xie Heng spoke righteously.

Jiang Ningbao looked at the duke’s appearance and at first, she thought it was something big, but it was because he wanted to eat dinner together. Jiang Ningbao’s face revealed a brilliant smile and nodded immediately, “Alright.”

After saying this, Jiang Ningbao thought of something and her whole body moved close to Duke Ding Xie Heng’s side. Her eyes curved as she asked, “Sir duke, have you throw the books away?”

The little lady’s faint scent entered his nose and Duke Ding Xie Heng’s body stiffened as he spoke with a low and hoarse voice.

“Thrown already.”

Jiang Ningbao laughed as she saw Duke Ding stiffened his body and did not dare to move.  She could not help but use her fingers to poke at his sturdy chest.

A numbing sensation traveled across his body and Duke Ding’s heart jumped. He abruptly stood up and Jiang Ningbao fell to his embrace out of the suddenness.

Jiang Ningbao’s laughter stopped and her heart beat like thunder. Her white face turned red as if a boiled shrimp and even her neck was red.

With warm jade on his embrace, Duke Ding Xie Heng turned into a sculpture.
