The three people conversed with a joyous and harmonious atmosphere.

At noon, the three of them ate lunch at the teahouse. When they parted, Fu Wanning felt reluctant.

Jiang Ningbao and her older brother Jiang Jin had good physiques so they did not go back to the residence but continued strolling the streets. But this time, they wore black veils under the insistence of her older brother so they did not attract the attention of others.

Who knew that after strolling for a while, they would hear a bunch of rumors and gossip.

Especially rumors about Yang Shuqing, Young Master Shu Yang, and Heir Xie. Perhaps Yang Shuqing had too many enemies, in the span of one afternoon, the news had spread and the commoners would gossip with vigor.

“Have you heard about it? Have you heard about it? Miss Yang is Young Master Shu Yang. It turns out that Miss Yang and Heir Xie knew each other two years ago. It’s not strange that Jiang fourth miss lost.”

“That’s right. One with intentions schemes one without. Heir Xie fell.”

“Jiang fourth miss does not lose, okay? She is the future Duchess Ding. Miss Yang schemes this all but in the end, she is suppressed by Jiang fourth miss.”

“Right,right. Brother speaks right.”

“The most pitiful one is Heir Xie. For Miss Yang, he annulled the engagement with Jiang fourth miss and carried the reputation of unfilial and ungrateful. That Miss Yang secretly opened Upper Cloud Wine Shop with King Qin without telling him and became rich silently.”

“Haha, right, pitiful Heir Xie.”

“I would never have thought that Upper Cloud Wine Shop is Miss Yang’s private property. She really hides really deep.”

“Speaking about which female using all means and has a scheming heart, Miss Yang takes number one spot.”

“…..”

Hearing the rumors regarding Yang Shuqing, Jiang Ningbao’s mood was quite good.

Yang Shuqing instantly became the capital’s famous person, though the type whose reputation was not good. The strange thing was Heir Xie’s reputation turned much better.

“Now, Yang Shuqing won’t care about reputation. Her actions would be more unbridled.” Jiang Ningbao had seen through this when Yang Shuqing changed in that moment.

“So when brother is not in the residence, you should be more careful.” Jiang Jin put a small sugar figurine to Jiang Ningbao’s hand and commanded seriously.

“Brother, I will take care.”

“Later, I’ll be going to Clear Water Temple to visit oldest uncle and oldest aunt. Do you want to come together?”

“Together. I also want to go to Clear Water Temple to see. Brother, let’s go back to the residence to prepare.”

“Yes.”

Jiang Ningbao and Jiang Jin hurried to Changning Count Residence to pack their things. Jiang Ningbao wrote a letter to Duke Ding Xie Heng and called the guard to send it to Duke Ding Residence.

Duke Ding Residence.

Duke Ding Xie Heng heard Xie Qi spoke about the newest rumors in the capital with a cold face and his brows slightly moved. A trace of smile flashed across his ice cold eyes. The little lady seemed soft and tender, but her combat prowess was not weak in the slightest.

At this time, Butler Zhao sent a letter.

“Master, Jiang fourth miss sent a letter.”

Jiang fourth miss and the duke exchanged letters and Butler Zhao was used to it. In his heart, he was eager for the two to have more exchanges and grew their feelings. And after getting married, gave Duke Ding Residence a heir soon.

Duke Ding took the letter and read it. So the little lady and her older brother would go to Clear Water Temple together. It should be to visit the Changning Count couple. A trace of cold sternness rose in his eyes.

“Xie Qi, you lead others to protect Jiang fourth miss.”

Xie Qi received the order with respect.

After Jiang Ningbao and her older brother Jiang Jin asked instructions to Old Madam Jiang, Xie Qi led a team full of guards with stern and harsh aura. Jiang Ningbao did not think that before they set out, Duke Ding would send people to protect her.

Jiang Jin silently felt satisfied in his heart.

The group went out of the city in a rowdy manner.

On the high wall of the city, there stood a handsome and tall man wearing brocade down with an ominous aura swirling around him. Behind him was a bunch of black clothed personal guards.

The man wearing the brocade gown’s gaze kept on chasing Changning Count Residence’s carriage. Until the carriage was far, the man retracted his gaze. When he was about to leave, a black clothed personal guard came forward to report.

“Master, Miss Yang suddenly spread out news and from next month forward, ten percent of Upper Cloud Wine Shop would be given to the families of deceased soldiers.”

As the duke’s personal guard, when they were investigating about Jiang fourth miss, they noticed that Jiang fourth miss had taken fifty percent of Jinjiang Teahouse’s profit to give to the families of deceased soldiers and at the same time, bought various lands in Dayue Dynasty to give works for them or rent the lands with the lowest price to those people. When the profit was not good, she would lessen the renting fee and give them a stable job.

Jiang fourth miss was only eleven years old back then and she did these in the dark without others knowing. Miss Yang had not started but she had already spread the news grandly, as if she was afraid that others won’t know her contribution.

The most important thing was that others knew that King Qin and Upper Cloud Wine Shop had intimate relations.

Miss Yang’s action was completely raising King Qin’s prestige within the soldiers and also put her and the whole Anyuan Marquis Residence on King Qin’s side.

Once the black clothed guards thought that these two ladies would be the masters in Duke Ding Residence, their expressions became delicate.

  2. Thank you for the chapters!!!
Hahaha!! Look at the contrast. One lady master schemes for King Qin and another did it with sincerity. All in all, the soldiers gets the benefits.

  3. ‘The man wearing the brocade gown’s gaze’.
The way you have this means that the brocade gown has a gaze and the man is wearing that gaze, which is definitely not right. It should be ‘The gaze of the man wearing the brocade gown’.
